Futuremark Launches Value for Performance Shopping
New service empowers users with unique purchasing information price vs. performance statistics for processors and graphics cards.
Espoo, Finland - January 24, 2008 - Futuremark Corporation, www.futuremark.com, announced today the full release of the "Price and Performance Information Page" on YouGamers.com. This new Futuremark service takes the guesswork out of buying your next processor or graphics card. "Users often ask the question, 'how fast can my system go for my hard earned dollars?", said Matti Kontu, VP of Futuremark. "Now Futuremark answers that question."
What makes the service unique is the amount of real-world data used to calculate the system performance. Futuremark currently receives over 20,000 benchmark results from 3DMark06 each day which provide real-life performance statistics contributing to a more accurate service for the informed shopper. This data from the 3DMark06 scores is matched with retail prices from CNET Shopper and is used to calculate relative performance from over 120 processors and graphic cards to help consumers make better purchasing decisions. The service is available free for anyone at: http://www.yougamers.com/hardware/stats/3dmark06/priceandperformance/
