HELSINKI, FINLAND MAY 12th, 2009 - Futuremark® Corporation, the worlds leading developer of performance-analysis software and services for smartphones, handheld devices and PCs, announced today that Tokyo based TAKUMI Corporation has joined its Handheld Benchmark Development Program (BDP). TAKUMI Corporation is a privately held IP core provider specializing in the design and development of low-power, high performance graphics accelerators for the next generation of consumer handheld devices.
"This is just the beginning of TAKUMI's global strategic initiatives yet a critical one, says Osamu Shigenami, CEO of TAKUMI Corporation. "TAKUMI's key drivers have been our silicon-proven IP cores with 30+ tape-outs with over 20 licenses. I am excited to announce joining the Futuremark BDP, which will surely be a new driving factor for our solid and consistent growth in the global market."
Oliver Baltuch, President, Futuremark Inc. said "TAKUMIs 3D and VG graphics processors have already been adopted by a broad range of embedded systems and consumer electronics products. Their experience in this growing consumer market combined with their design and engineering excellence adds new value to our Benchmark Development Program ensuring that our benchmark products continue to best represent the needs of the industry."
Futuremark's Handheld Benchmark Development Program (BDP) membership includes leading mobile industry technology manufacturers.
