GIGABYTE Dragon Sets Record for Largest AMD Overclocking Contest
Over fifteen thousand worldwide contestants enter during first two weeks; AMD to offer latest Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor to 1st 3rd place contestants for top 3DMark scorers and CPU overclocking
Helsinki, Finland September 8th, 2009 - Futuremark® Corporation today released details from the first two weeks of their GIGABYTE Dragon competition.

Two random prize awards for GIGABYTE motherboards have been awarded to nalonon (week 1) and jugiho (week 2). Contestants compete within two categories: top 3DMark overall score and top CPU overclocker which calculates overall 3DMark score by the CPU overclocked percentage. The contest continues until September 13. Futuremark expects the total number of entries to exceed 30,000 making it the largest AMD overclocking competition ever staged. There are still two weeks of the contest left, so get overclocking!
Contestants are competing to see who can achieve the highest score with 3DMark06, a benchmark program from Futuremark that measures the 3D gaming performance capabilities of PCs. 3DMark software has been downloaded more than 45 million times. The 3DMark06 edition is currently the worlds most popular benchmark and can be downloaded for free from the Futuremark website. http://www.futuremark.com/benchmarks/
